Get to know: Rachel McKnight

Rachel (she/her) is based in Renton, WA occupying Duwamish, Muckleshoot, Stillaguamish, Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla land.

Born and raised in Oakland, CA, Rachel is a recent transplant in Washington state. She has years of operations experience and is always looking for new ways to grow. As a People Partner, she loves strengthening organizational policies, optimizing leave management systems, and designing comprehensive onboarding and offboarding processes that elevate the employee experience. Rachel is a classically trained violinist and loves all genres of music. Outside of work, she’s often organizing family celebrations, relaxing with her cat Bob, or at the movies with her husband.

What is your favorite genre of books or movies?

I love suspenseful thrillers. Give me all of the unexpected twists, surprising turns, and clever misdirection, before the big reveal!

What’s your guilty pleasure tv show/genre?

I really enjoy comedies. I can always watch The Office even though I’ve seen it many times. The superfan episodes are hilarious.

What is your favorite season?

I love fall! The changing colors, sweater weather, pumpkin spice, and transition into the holiday season is just the best.

Which HENSLEE value do you connect with most, and why?

“Make space and elevate” - this resonates with me the most because of the intentionality behind it. Having the opportunity to be myself, share my thoughts, and be encouraged throughout the process is incredibly rare and special.
